More Sing-ing

“In Singapore you don’t have friends, you have acquaintances.” And if the saying is correct, then John Forsyth and his beautiful new bride Beatrice have quite a few people to nod to in the street if last night is anything to go by. J&B got married in August in Ghent, Belgium, but as we had just arrived we couldn’t go back. Last night the happy couple put on a drinks party for those people in Sing that couldn’t make it back, hence us being here. (Going to the F1 was an after thought, honest.)

Thus, this morning, we’re not in a particularly good writing mood. Aggie has already departed the Paterson house with Larry in tow, leaving me to enjoy a lovely lunch with our hosts and as many virgin Mary’s as it takes to remove the lingering clouds from J&B’s fabulous do…

Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a photo of the man who invented Singapore back in 1819, Sir Stamford Raffles. That he was named after the legendary hotel here still tops the list of improbable coincidences.
